Are you a seasoned 2nd line IT technician with a knack for networking? We're searching for a talented individual to join our dynamic team on a full-time, permanent basis.
About the Role:
As an IT Technician, you'll be our tech guru, ensuring seamless operations and providing top-notch support to both schools and businesses. Your experience and knowledge of these sectors will be invaluable. We're looking for someone who aligns with our company ethos and brings a positive, proactive attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
* Offer technical support for computer hardware, software, and network issues.
* Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and software applications.
* Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems promptly.
* Set up and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
* Perform routine maintenance tasks like system updates, backups, and security patches.
* Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
* Respond to IT support tickets, ensuring timely resolution and proper escalation.
* Document technical procedures and troubleshooting steps for reference and training.
* Collaborate with IT team members on projects and initiatives.
* Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements.
Requirements:
* Minimum of 3 year's experience as an IT Technician or similar role.
* Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and software applications.
* Expertise in firewall management, network design, infrastructure, and server vitalisation.
* Experience with LANs and system administration tasks.
* Proficiency in troubleshooting technical issues.
* Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.).
* Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical users.
* Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional) are a plus.
* Flexibility to work outside regular business hours for maintenance, upgrades, or emergencies.
* Full driving license and access to a vehicle for on-site visits around the North West.

Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
