Apprentice Business Systems Analyst
Role
Nexteq are seeking our next Support Superstar to join the IT Infrastructure team. We offer a friendly and supportive environment where you’ll have the opportunity to gain both technical and soft skills to jump-start your career in IT.
Working within a relatively small team (there are currently four members of the infrastructure team globally), you will have a unique opportunity to become involved in problem solving and customer service for users at all levels of seniority.
Based at our modern office in Crawley you’ll learn to provide support to users throughout Europe and US. Nexteq is a technology business which invests heavily in its IT environment, so you will gain exposure to modern hardware and software systems as part of the role.
Team culture is hugely important to us, and you’ll be working with a group of individuals who deliver excellent customer service and believe in doing the job right first time.
We’re proud to be inclusive and our team members come from a wide range of technical and cultural backgrounds.
Job duties will include:
- Dealing efficiently and politely with internal customers across the company’s global offices.
- Accurately logging information regarding IT problems into the ticketing system.
- Triaging and, where possible, resolving IT problems using the skills developed on the job and through formal training.
- Communicating clearly with customers regarding the status of their issues.
- Providing remote and in-person technical support.
- Setting up and configuring different IT equipment and resources, including laptops, printers, mobile devices, video conferencing, etc.
- Completing asset management and lifecycle tasks.
- Creating user accounts, managing passwords and access to resources according to company policy.
- Performing regular checks on systems and equipment to ensure it remains in good working order.
- Participating in team and topic-specific meetings as necessary.
- Assisting with other support or project work as directed by members of the team.
- Reviewing and updating the IT documentation and knowledge base.
- Providing basic user training for hardware and software use.
Training
- Candidates will study via day release at East Surrey College.
- Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, candidates will gain a Level 3 Information Communications Technician Apprenticeship Standard.
We firmly believe in nurturing talent. For the right individual there are no limits to the potential for progression. After successfully completing the apprenticeship we anticipate the candidate becoming a full-time member of our IT staff, with the opportunity to progress into a specialism (e.g. Security, Networking, Cloud) alongside general duties.
Because we are a relatively small team (11 colleagues in total), the opportunity for exposure to both project and support work across a variety of disciplines exists, as well as the opportunity to progress into more senior roles within the business.
