IT Business Analyst

Job Title: IT Business Analyst 
Location: Stevenage (some remote working available) 
Contract: Permanent, full-time 
Salary: £45,600 - £48,500 per annum 
 
Osiris Recruitment is working with a leading organisation to help them find an experienced IT Business Analyst to join their dynamic IT department. Key Responsibilities:

• Requirements Gathering: Lead the requirements gathering process by conducting group workshops and individual stakeholder meetings to fully understand business needs.
• Process Analysis & Design: Map out current business processes, identify gaps, and design future state processes that ensure technical and operational requirements are met.
• Solution Design: Work closely with technical teams and vendors to ensure that solutions align with both business and technical goals. This includes preparing detailed designs like process flows and system mappings.
• Project Governance: Oversee governance tasks such as project planning and progress tracking, ensuring projects stay on course and deliver value.
• Testing & UAT Support: Develop test cases, support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and prioritise defect resolution to ensure a smooth transition from project to business-as-usual operations (BAU).
• Stakeholder Management: Establish strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, becoming a trusted advisor on business improvements, IT solutions, and change management.
• Documentation & Transition: Create and maintain thorough documentation throughout the project lifecycle, including requirements, design specifications, test scripts, and handover materials to ensure a smooth transition to BAU.

 
Essential Skills & Competencies:

• Requirements Engineering: Proficiency in gathering and translating business requirements into detailed technical specifications.
• Process Modelling: Expertise in creating process maps, customer journeys, and data flow diagrams to support solution design.
• Analytical Thinking: Advanced analytical skills with the ability to break down complex problems and devise effective solutions.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business terms for non-technical stakeholders.
• Organisation & Prioritisation: Highly organised, able to manage multiple projects and priorities while ensuring deadlines are met.
• Team Collaboration: Experience in working both independently and within cross-functional teams to deliver successful outcomes.

 
Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an IT Business Analyst in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven experience in requirements gathering, process analysis, and stakeholder management.
• Familiarity with ERP, CRM, or other business systems.
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure and business systems.
• Experience in managing multiple projects or change requests concurrently.
• Experience supporting testing phases, including UAT, and defect management.

 
Desirable Qualifications:

• BCS Diploma in Business Analysis or an equivalent certification.
• Knowledge of Prince2 or Agile methodologies.
• Experience in working with order management, finance systems, or product information management (PIM) systems.
• Experience with vendor management and managing external partner relationships.
• Familiarity with delivery routing systems and warehousing technologies.

 
Additional Information: 
This role will require occasional out-of-hours support, especially during key project milestones such as deployments. The successful candidate will have the flexibility to work remotely part-time but will need to attend the Stevenage office on a regular basis to collaborate with the team.
