Service Technician Apprenticeship - Paul Rigby Stourbridge

The apprentice will gain hands-on experience, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of Volvo products and services. This is ideal for individuals passionate about mechanics, problem-solving, and providing exceptional customer service.

Role

  • Assist senior technicians in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing various mechanical and electrical systems
  • Learn to perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, lubrication, and adjustments
  • Participate in equipment installations and upgrades under supervision
  • Develop proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues accurately
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of service requests and projects
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment
  • Document service activities, including work performed, parts used, and customer interactions
  • Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills and product knowledge
  • Communicate effectively with customers to address inquiries, explain service procedures, and provide recommendations
  • Assist with inventory management, including tracking parts and supplies used during service operations

Training

All of our Apprentices are employed through the Dealer Network and attend week-long block training at our state-of-the-art Training Centre in Daventry.

Motor vehicle service and maintenance technician - light vehicle
Level 3 (A level).

Block training is complemented by a combination of regular coaching visits from one of our experienced Coaches as well as Virtual Classroom sessions and E-Learning modules. Throughout your apprenticeship journey, we are committed to nurturing your growth and development, guiding you toward attaining a widely recognised qualification in the motor industry. This qualification serves as a cornerstone for building your career, offering abundant opportunities within our expanding Dealer Network. Upon successful completion of the program, you'll be well-equipped to advance and transition into new roles.

Qualification: 

You'll achieve a nationally recognised qualification: Level 2 Autocare (lasting 24 months + 12 weeks for EPA). Upon completing this, the apprentice will progress to the Level 3 Service Technician (lasting 13 months + 12 weeks for EPA).

There are lots of opportunities within our expanding dealer network to progress and move into new roles once you’ve successfully completed the programme.

Monday - Thursday 8.00 am - 5.00 pm and Friday from 8.40 am - 4.30 pm. Initially a 40 hour week to progress to 42 when over 18 years of age.
