Technical Apprentice
The broad purpose of the occupation is to provide specialist technical support for engineers, so that organisations can develop, produce or test new/existing products, processes, or procedures to meet a customer specification in terms of quality, cost and delivery, as efficiently and effectively as possible.
Role
- To program & create CNC nested programmes for the Laser machine.
- To update the worksheets and report any problems or material issues.
- To create Shop Floor Bend Detail for the CNC Press Brake machines
- To issue & update the weekly stock sheets.
- To maintain stocks of Stainless Steel for nesting of jobs
- To monitor and update the CAD drawing file
- To train in the use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) using proprietary software packages.
- To use the company ERP system (Kingfisher)
- To create and update Standard Operating Procedures.
- To create O&M manuals for standard product ranges.
- To carry out tasks and responsibilities assigned by your department manager to meet required levels of performance and competence.
- To gain practical experience on the factory floor in order to further develop skills relevant to the business needs, specifically in the use of sheet metal.
