Senior Business Analyst

The Opportunity

As a Senior Business Analyst, you'll bring your technical support skills to the heart of democracy to help make Parliament happen. you will be embedded within the Digital Planning Team and work collaboratively with a range of multi-disciplinary professionals and stakeholders across the organisation to provide strategic analysis of digital initiatives, ensuring that corporate dependencies are articulated, and information is presented in a digestible and understandable way. More than this, you'll impact our future direction, as you work to continually improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of our service.

  • lead and deliver high level cross-functional business analysis, investigating, analysing, and communicating complex business problems and opportunities for strategic tactical decision making
  • determine the approach and level of feasibility assessment required, investigating business readiness, and delivering options analysis inclusive of benefits quantification and strategic alignment.
  • translate business drivers, goals and constraints into business objectives; helping to define current and future state capabilities and operating models
  • lead on communicating and relationship building with stakeholders, clarifying needs and commitments through consultation and consideration of consequences.
  • understanding of, and collaboration with other specialists across the Digital Service to apply digital perspective and deliver innovation across parliament
  • panage and develop Business Analysts across the Parliamentary Digital Service within a matrix management environment.

What You Need

  • Experience of applying business analysis skills to provide excellent quality, cross-functional exploratory analysis, providing strategic appraisal of the business situation, options and recommendations to obtain clear business decisions.
  • Experience of influencing and persuading at strategic / operational levels in a challenging and complex stakeholder environment, owning stakeholder relationships to ensure consensus is achieved
  • Experience of delivery within a multidisciplinary team; can demonstrate collaborative and innovative working while balancing changing priorities and adhering to the Parliamentary Digital Service core workplace values.
  • Ability to manage, motivate and build the capability of staff working in a matrix management environment, including line management and team management
  • Understanding and supporting cultural change within a complex organisation and developing best practice whilst upholding the values of equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • the ability to pass security clearance, backed by the right to work in the UK

About The Team

The Digital Planning Team is a strategic function which supports Parliament to consolidate its digital needs, provide analysis for strategic decision making and coordinate plans for digital delivery.

This role will be a part of the Digital Business Analyst community, with opportunities to network, share best practice, promote and strengthen the Business Analyst profession throughout the Parliamentary Digital Service.
