Interoperability Test Engineer

Location: Cambridge (CB25)

Duration: Permanent

Hours: 9am until 5:30pm (Monday to Friday)

We are looking for a Software Engineer for our client based North Cambridge. This is a varied role for an experienced Test Engineer to join a busy and expanding team.

This job involves some travelling so the successful applicant will have a full, clean driving licence and their own car. Travel expenses will be paid. This role may require Security Clearance in the future.

Responsibilities:

* Writing, maintaining, and executing Test cases.

* Testing of software solutions / applications to ensure that the developed products meet the requirements

* Reading and understanding requirements documentation

* Providing estimated timescales for the testing of requirements.

* Producing and maintaining appropriate documentation for tracking quality metrics

Requirements

* Formal qualification (Degree) in Computing Science or equivalent experience

* 2+ years' experience of commercial software testing

* ISTQB certification (preferrable)

* Knowledge of Agile methodologies

* High level of communication skills and technical understanding

* Ability to communicate with core software development team to understand solution behaviour and explain fault details

* Critical eye for detail

* Capability of delivering critical feedback without damaging relationships

* Ability to be outspoken when projects are producing sub-standard output

* Working knowledge of source code management technologies

* Knowledge of software development / issue tracking systems (e.g. Jira, etc.)

* Experience with automated test frameworks (e.g. Selenium, Cypress etc.)

* Experience with web service technologies (e.g. SOAP, REST, JSON etc.)
