Director of Digitally Enabled Transformation

Job summary

In order to deliver the best possible service to our families, we are looking to develop our digital transformation strategy, embrace digital excellence, and transform our ways of working. Leveraging digital technologies and data to drive efficiencies across the charity and improve the engagement experience of stakeholders, this transformation will position Rainbows to stay abreast of changes in an increasingly digital world. Therefore, we are seeking a Director of Digitally Enabled Transformation to create a holistic strategic plan for transformational change that will encompass the entire organization and support the delivery of our strategic objectives through a digital-first approach.

Main duties of the job

As an experienced and innovative leader, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of all transformation investment initiatives, informing the charitys business planning process. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will report to the Board on the digitally enabled transformation strategy and the progress of all program and project initiatives within the charity. You will also contribute to overall business strategy articulation and delivery. This role is 22.5 hours per week over 3 days and will involve occasional evening and weekend working for Board meetings and events so flexibility is essential. There may also be a requirement for travel to visit our Charity Shops across the East Midlands.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Supporting the cultural change required to achieve digital transformation. Creating business cases for project investment. Ensuring on-time, on-budget project delivery. Partnering with suppliers to ensure the provision of secure 24/7 infrastructure and telecommunications services. Managing and leading the Project Manager and IT Technician.

Requirements With demonstrable technology and change expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement, other key requirements include:

Proven experience in a similar role or in a role with directly transferrable skills, responsible for delivering digitally enabled transformation with line management and budgetary responsibility.

A track record of success in shaping and delivering digital transformation strategies and change initiatives resulting in service improvement across a range of functions. Demonstrable understanding of digital technologies, including cloud computing, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, their applications, and implications.

Hands-on experience with Cloud Infrastructure, Software as a Service (SAAS), as well as traditional in-house/legacy architecture and solutions. Working knowledge of delivering secure, stable ICT services in a 24/7 environment.

Qualifications

Essential
  • Degree level qualification, in a related subject or commensurate, extensive experience.
  • Project management qualification or equivalent experience e.g., Prince 2 and/or Agile certification.

Experience

Essential
  • Proven experience in similar role or in role with directly transferrable skills, responsible for delivering digitally enabled transformation with line management and budgetary responsibility.
  • A track record of success in shaping and delivering digital transformation strategies and change initiatives resulting in service improvement across a range of functions.
  • Ability to advise on, drive and successfully implement digitally enabled strategic change initiatives across a broad portfolio.
  • Demonstrable experience of designing and leading complex technology-enabled business change projects, taking account of culture and capability.
  • Demonstrable understanding of digital technologies, including cloud computing, data analytics, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, their applications, and implications.
  • Hands-on experience with Cloud Infrastructure, Software as a Service (SAAS), as well as traditional in-house /legacy architecture and solutions.
  • Working knowledge of delivering secure, stable ICT services in a 24*7 environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in team leadership, talent development and change management
  • Experience articulating costed business cases and informing business plan.
  • Experience managing and report against budgets, ensuring effective allocation of finite resources.
  • Proven track record delivering digitally enabled change initiatives using proven methodologies.
