Automation Engineer

Recruit4staff is proud to be representing their client, a leading food manufacturing company in their search for an Automation Engineer to work in their leading facility in Market Drayton.

For the successful Automation Engineer, our client is offering:

• Up to £60,000 per annum DOE
• 4 on 4 off Day shift
• Permanent position
• Benefits package including life assurance and health care cover
• Overtime available at x1.5 rate

The Role - Automation Engineer:

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and robotic equipment.
• Develop and implement automation strategies to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Work alongside production teams to identify areas for automation and process improvement.
• Program, test, and commission new automation systems and modifications.
• Support the maintenance team in diagnosing and repairing automation-related issues.

What our client is looking for in an Automation Engineer:

• Degree/HND in Electrical Engineering, Automation or related field
• Recognised Engineering apprenticeship - ESSENTIAL
• Experience in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment is - HIGHLY DESIRABLE
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, ideally Siemens - ESSENTIAL
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Knowledge of health & safety and food industry regulations.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
