Senior Software Safety Assurance Engineer

Salary: £85,000 with flexibility for the right candidate

Location: Bath office, Hybrid working of 2/3 days from home with flexible working hours

I am currently looking for Senior Software Safety Assurance Engineers to join a leading engineering company that delivers high-integrity software systems across industries like Aerospace, Defence, Rail, and Nuclear. This company specializes in System Functional Safety Engineering and Software Assurance, helping clients develop safety-critical systems that meet today's strict regulatory demands.

They are looking for someone who wants to be involved in their projects and utilise their skills and experience to make a real impact.

The Role: You'll work on a variety of high-impact projects, including:

• ATC software development
• AI-based systems for rail infrastructure maintenance
• Torpedo safety electronics
• Submarine command and control systems
• Consultancy on safety engineering for innovative technologies

In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring compliance with industry safety standards (such as BS EN 61508, RTCA-DO-178) and working within multidisciplinary teams to deliver essential safety-critical solutions.

Key Requirements:

• Knowledge of safety standards like BS EN 61508, Def Stan 00-55, and others
• Strong experience working on high SIL/DAL projects
• Ability to draft and review safety documentation and liaise with clients
• UK national with eligibility for SC clearance
