Building Services Engineering Senior Technician Apprentice
Role
Building services engineers are responsible for ensuring that the electrical, mechanical and other systems within buildings work effectively and efficiently. Well-designed and maintained building services systems are essential in supporting people with their busy lives and help them maximise the benefits from their built environment.
Our design approach to Building Services Engineering is to understand the client’s brief, interrogate the needs and operation of the building and use innovative methods in the design process.
As buildings are responsible for over 40% of the world’s energy consumption, Building Services Engineers have an important responsibility to minimise carbon emissions, reduce energy consumption, adapt to regulatory change and deliver on the sustainability agenda.
Duties will include:
- Drawing production based upon mark-ups and guidance from the engineering team
- Ensuring drawings meet company/client standards
- Learning and keeping up to date with the latest software updates, AutoCAD/Revit Standards
- Working to deadlines whilst producing the highest quality of work
- Liaising with multi-disciplined engineers and surveyors
- Supporting flow of design information for specific projects into and out of the company
- Working alongside and supporting other technicians, senior technicians and engineers
Training
You will be studying for a HNC in Building Services Engineering at London South Bank University which will provide you the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to satisfy and achieve Engineering Technician status with the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineering (EngTech LCIBSE).
