Job summary

  • To validate, resolve and correct data quality issues
  • Escalate service delivery issues such as delays
  • Identify areas for team learning, such as fields not being completed correctly in the electronic patient record
  • Chase outstanding actions, such as orders and modifications and escalate concerns as required.
  • Document all actions taken when validating the waiting list and following up orders
  • Attend specified speciality Access and Performance meetings (currently the long waiters and pathways meetings).
  • Assist with producing monthly performance reports.
  • To provide a full and efficient administration service to facilitate the requirements of Cancer Services and to provide administration support to line managers.
  • To manage and maintain appointment systems adhering to agreed timescales.
  • To receive telephone calls from patients and help with their queries

This is an exciting opportunity to join our very busy Team. The post holder will work within the Central Support Team. The post holder will be responsible for management of cancer waiting lists to ensure high utilisation performance, identification of demand and capacity issues, and collation of performance data to highlight opportunities for improvement. They will also be responsible for the training of staff within the booking team, will be a liaison for the Cancer Services Division and specialty teams. The post holder will also be able to support the services to adapt to changes in performance targets. This role will lead to faster diagnosis targets being met, which can present a patient safety risk of increased time to diagnosis and treatment. The post holder will highlight available slots and liaise effectively with specialties and Cancer Services to highlight short falls. The post holder is essential to maintain flow and will deliver improved management of cancer waiting lists, meaning patients are seen in a timely manner and within performance targets.

The post holder will validate, resolve and correct referral to treat and data quality issues by working closely with the Cancer Services Team with the aim of reducing patient waiting times and improving service efficiency.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
