Aircraft Component Engineer Apprenticeship

Join our team and become a professional aircraft component maintenance engineer. Our apprenticeship program will provide the necessary education and knowledge to complete an apprenticeship successfully. In this role, you'll test and inspect our customers' components, use fault-finding techniques to identify issues and perform the repairs.

Role

  • Electronic fault finding
  • Repairing components in accordance with component maintenance manuals
  • Using various automatic and manual test equipment
  • Soldering of components 
  • Filling in records of maintenance completed

Training

Your working week will consist of 4 days in the workplace and 1 day at college.

The course consists of the following mandatory qualifications:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Aerospace and Aviation Engineering (Foundation Competence)

After a further period of skills and technical knowledge development all apprentices will be required to achieve the following qualifications:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Aviation Maintenance (Development Competence)

Plus one of the following Technical Knowledge Qualifications as applicable to the pathway being undertaken:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance (Civil Aircraft Mechanical) approved by the CAA
  • Level 3 Diploma in On-Aircraft Maintenance Category A
  • EASA Aircraft Maintenance Licence Category A, Part 66 modules through an approved Part 147

Once 21, you'll be able to qualify as an approved mechanic and work without supervision. Further progression is on a time served and ability basis.
