The Fire & Security Engineer Apprenticeship programme provides a unique chance to gain practical experience while working towards a nationally recognised qualification. You will work alongside seasoned engineers to learn the ins and outs of designing, installing, and maintaining fire and security systems.

Role

You will be trained to install, maintain, and service intruder alarms, CCTV, access control, and fire alarm systems. You will receive full support from a workplace mentor while completing the Level 3 Fire, Emergency & Security Systems (FESS) apprenticeship.

This is a fulfilling and exciting role for someone with a passion for
engineering. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Installing, servicing, and maintaining relevant equipment
  • Following safe working practices and instructions
  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Using power tools, lifting, carrying, and climbing ladders

Training

This apprenticeship lasts 3 years and takes place at Banham Academy in Earlsfield, London. Training is delivered via block release with each block lasting 5 days.

There are fifteen blocks in all. At the end of the apprenticeship, the candidate will take the Fire, Emergency and Security Systems Technician Level 3 End Point Assessment.
