Software Engineer

Hybrid Role: Remote/Hull, East Yorkshire. Candidate must live within commuting distance to Hull for fortnightly office meetings.

Saledock is a cloud-based commerce platform designed with retailers, for retailers. We help make business life easier for start-ups and well-established multi-store retailers. Our all-in-one platform unifies in-store and online sales across multiple channels, and helps retailers understand and manage their stock more effectively.

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join us on this adventure! You’ll be working directly with the founders, and have real impact in shaping the Saledock platform. You will need to have a ‘can do’ attitude and be willing to pitch in where required to help drive the business forward.

What you will be doing:

As a Software Engineer you’ll be working all areas of the Saledock solution; from the Android POS application, and web based back office to the eCommerce platform and third-party integrations.

In summary, you’ll:

• Enhance our stock control and point of sale applications
• Enhance and scale our eCommerce platform
• Develop custom features and integrations for clients
• Develop our portfolio of third-party integration offerings
• Collaborate with the technical team on a daily basis, working in sprints using DevOps
• Be actively involved in software design, research, documentation and implementation
• Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
• Perform validation and verification testing
• Help shape our technology roadmap

You’ll bring a wealth of technical knowledge and experience to the team, and be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining complex software solutions. As a small team, we are fast-paced and dynamic so adaptability is crucial. You’ll be able to quickly adapt to new technologies, requirements and project scopes as needed and have a proven track record of effectively communicating ideas and solving challenging technical problems.

Your sense of responsibility and dedication to quality will ensure that projects are completed on time and to the highest standards. The technology landscape is constantly evolving, and we value individuals who are committed to staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies. Your enthusiasm for continuous learning and willingness to explore new tools and methodologies will enrich our team's capabilities.

We're looking for a candidate who has experience with the following:

• Minimum of 2 years commercial experience working with C#, ASP.Net MVC and Web API.
• Experience of developing on Android or with Xamarin would be beneficial.
• Strong SQL database skills
• Good working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML and CSS
• Experience and exposure to Microsoft Azure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with ALM tools such as Azure DevOps
• A passion and drive for clean, automated delivery processes
• Any exposure to Blazor is a bonus.
