We are seeking a skilled and experienced BIM Manager to join our team and help lead the way in transforming our healthcare environments through data-driven design and construction.

Main duties of the job

As a Building Information Modelling (BIM) Manager, you'll provide expert technical Digital/BIM estates input into the Site Development Plan, Estate Development Programme, Future Hospital Programme, Decarbonisation Strategy and Climate Change Adaptation Plan.

You'll be responsible for overseeing the implementation and management of BIM processes and standards across the NHS estate. Working closely with project teams, architects, engineers, and contractors, you'll ensure the effective use of BIM technology throughout the design, construction, and maintenance phases of healthcare facilities.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential
  • Degree level qualification in Building Services Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Building, Architectural, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent experience.
  • Project Management Qualification (PRINCE 2).
Desirable
  • Completion of a recognised leadership development training programme.
  • Member of an appropriate professional body. Has or is working towards professional chartership status in an appropriate professional field, such as RIBA, RICS or CIAT.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Specialist knowledge acquired through an MSc or equivalent experience.

Experience

Essential
  • Building services/in large multi-functional establishments, nominally more than 30,000 sq. M.
  • Excellent knowledge of legislation, statutory standards relative to EFM.
  • Understanding of Energy management/BMS techniques, broad knowledgebase of risk-based management and application of concept.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation/safe systems of work when applied to job role.
Desirable
  • Health care engineering and building infrastructure.
  • Understanding of Soft FM functions.
  • Performance Assurance Metrics and the concept of business intelligence.
  • Knowledge of Health Technical Memorandums (HTM's).

Additional Criteria

Essential
  • Have proven capability of implementing complex technical software solutions and their use to include BIM 360, SharePoint, Power BI, and Revit.
  • The candidate will be able to demonstrate a full understanding of estate management approach and robust knowledge of BIM, CAFM, CDE, Space Management and a good understanding of FM processes and Asset Management.
