AWS DevOps Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure AWS infrastructure.
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or AWS Cloud Formation to automate deployment, scaling, and management of infrastructure resources.
- Collaborate with development teams to implement Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines for efficient and reliable software delivery.
- Monitor system performance and reliability, and implement proactive measures to optimise resource utilisation, enhance security, and ensure high availability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, including network connectivity, server errors, and performance bottlenecks.
- Work closely with software engineers to optimise application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure smooth deployment of new features.
- Manage and administer MySQL databases, including design, performance tuning, backups, and replication.
- Implement and maintain RESTful APIs for seamless integration between different systems and services.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in AWS cloud services.
- Solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and experience with tools like Terraform.
- Experience with building RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency in managing and optimising MySQL databases.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and related tools such as Bitbucket or AWS.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a production environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as New Relic, AWS CloudWatch.
- Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security controls in AWS environments.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
