On behalf of a valued client, I am seeking an experienced and dynamic Network Engineering Lead with a strong background in Cisco technologies to lead their growing team. You will be responsible for managing a team of 6 skilled engineers, overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of their network infrastructure. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the security, stability, and scalability of our Cisco-based networks.
The organisation operates a hybrid working policy; therefore, you must be committed to being office based up to 3 days per week and within commutable distance of their Epsom offices.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of 6 network engineers, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations and long-term network strategy.
- Oversee the configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of Cisco-based network solutions, including Switches, Routers, and Firewalls.
- Collaborate with senior IT leaders and other departments to align network operations with business goals.
- Ensure the highest levels of network security and uptime, adhering to industry best practices.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, including architecture diagrams, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in network planning, capacity management, and optimization efforts.
- Coordinate network upgrades, patching, and system improvements.
Experience/Skills required:
- Proven experience in managing and leading a network engineering team.
- Strong expertise in Cisco technologies (routing, switching, security).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
- Solid understanding of network protocols, design, and architecture.
- Relevant Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP, or higher) are highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate across departments.
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid network environments is desirable but not essential
- Familiarity with infrastructure technologies such as virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and storage solutions is desirable but not essential.
