We are looking to appoint a part time salaried GP to join our existing team. Preferred working days to be Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

We are a very dynamic, evolving and supportive training practice. Our aim is to deliver modern primary care with the traditional feel of general practice.

You will be supported by an excellent clinical team, a well structured management team and an outstanding administrative team.

Salary: £10,000 per session with paid CPD time, MDU membership included and annual DDRB consideration. BMA model based contract.

Regular time protected for Clinical meetings and GSF/MDT meetings

Opportunities to be included in teaching rota and become a GP trainer.

Educational lunches are provided on a quarterly basis.

We hold regular team outings for socialising, involving a range of activities funded by the Practice.

Main duties of the job

To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standard for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

About us

Stockbridge Village Health Centre is a friendly Knowsley based training practice looking for a part time salaried GP to join our team.

We are 20mins from Liverpool city centre with good motorway links; some of our staff commute from Warrington, Wirral, Southport and Manchester.

Our team consists of 3 GP partners who are supported by a Business Manager, a Practice Manager, 3 Operational Support Managers, 3 Salaried GPs, 2 GP trainees, 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 Nurse Associate, 1 prescribing pharmacist and PCN ARRS staff.

We are part of Central and South Knowsley PCN. We consult using Emis web and currently view documents via the Docman system. We have good QOF achievement and offer many specialist services.

Our practice is very patient centred and has good relationships with the patients many of whom we have known for generations.

We are a good team who are working hard to modernise the practice. The team all have a good sense of humour.

Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Provide a full range of medical services as defined in the core GMS contract, additional and enhanced services where appropriate.
    • Provide other general medical services to meet identified patient need.
    • Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems whether self-referred, or referred from other healthcare works within the organisation.
    • See patients promptly and in a timely manner in order to minimise waiting times.
    • Assess the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
    • Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
    • Develop care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice; disease management protocols, provide counselling and health education.
    • Work within current ICB policy for prescribing.
    • Be available and accessible to patients at all times as agreed.
    • Maximise the effective use of current clinical computer systems. Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to an agreed standard.
    • Compile and issue computer generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand written prescriptions whenever possible).
    • Undertake all duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
    • To take part in, and lead on, areas including clinical auditing and data collection.
    • Support under-graduate student training in the surgery.
    • Support GP registrar training in practice.
    • Attend team meetings and other clinical meetings as necessary
    • Provide short term emergency cover for unplanned absence of colleagues
    • Provide emergency on call cover for the practice.

    Qualifications

    Essential
    • Qualified GP
    • GMC full registration
    • Membership of recognised defence union
    • MRCGP
    • Currently on the GP performers list
    Desirable
    • DRCOG / DFP / DCH
    • Recognised qualifications for GP registrar training

    Other Requirements

    Essential
    • Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check clearance
    • Occupational health clearance
    • Meet the requirements and produce evidence for GP revalidation
    • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) commensurate with the role
