Main duties of the job
This strategically crucial position will play a leading role in providing expert leadership, advice and guidance to advance the digital agenda by building data awareness and use, whilst also building the data engineering capability across the Trust, providing both technical expertise and strategic direction. Your primary overall focus will be to lead and enable the data engineering team to deliver robust, effective data products and services for the organisation, ensuring best practice.

Person Specification
Qualifications and/or professional registration
- Experience equivalent to a Masters level qualification in Computing / IT related subject.
- Qualifications or equivalent experience in Oracle, SQL Server, VB.net or other relevant systems.
- Extensive experience in a senior information management role
- Strong in-depth knowledge / extensive experience of using and developing in: ?SQL and TSQL advanced skills ?SQL Server 2008 and laterSQL Server Integration Services advanced skills with ETL, script tasks Microsoft Visual Basic/C#
Experience
- Extensive experience in managing and maintaining a data warehouse within a large organisation
Experience
- Extensive experience of developing a data warehouse to optimise performance
Skills and knowledge
- Highly organised and logical thinker
