Technical Apprentice ( Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician )

We have an exciting opportunity for anyone wishing to kick-start their career with a Technical Apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance & Operations at the Torpoint Ferry. Studying with City College Plymouth, you will be able to earn while you learn, becoming a valued member of our workforce in the process.

Role

  • Learning how to conduct maintenance correctly and safely
  • Learning how to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation used to maintain equipment, systems and components
  • Learning how to prioritise maintenance and fault repair activity in a very dynamic and ever-changing environment
  • Learning how engineering stores and processes support work

Training

The apprentice will attend college at the City College Kings Road campus one paid day per week, for the duration of the program. 

On completion of the programme, the candidate will achieve:

  • Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician

Further training details has yet to be agreed upon and will be made available at a later date.

Due to the health and safety restrictions on the work site and our insurance, we are not able to employ persons under the age of 18 years old. 

  • On completion of the apprenticeship, there may be an opportunity for the candidate to progress onto a higher-level qualification as a key member of the maintenance team
