ICT Apprentice
This role would be to help and support the ICT Manager in the effective provision of IT services to internal and external customers, e.g. school staff, pupils and external stakeholders.
Role
Support the ICT Manager with:
Customer service
- Assist with first line ICT support
- Respond and action helpdesk queries and escalate to the ICT Manager when appropriate
- Troubleshoot technical issues for hardware, software and cabling assets.
- Ensure the safe and effective delivery of technical support for school events including delivery of lights and microphones during assemblies and providing assistance with PowerPoint presentations and provision of laptop etc.
System Security
- Assist with the administration of security access and permissions for stakeholders, e.g password resets.
- Monitor user accounts and permissions on network resources and amend permissions when required
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including installing software packages.
Maintenance
- Regularly check the IT Suites to ensure all equipment is kept in good working order
- Assist in the roll out of systems updates where necessary
- Maintain printers and consumables
- To work within Health Safety at Work regulations and COSHH
- To support the IT Manager with any other reasonable requests as required
NB Time off in lieu may be taken for attendance at evening or weekend events.

The post holder will be required to:

Training
- ICT Level 3 qualification gained.
- Training provider: Solveway Apprenticeships
- Training is live on-line through our learning portal, one day per week.
Future prospects:
- Progression to 2nd/3rd line support, Network Engineer or Software Developer.
