Field Application Engineer/Technical Project Manager
An electronics pioneer in Cambridge town is rapidly expanding, supported by investors who want to become the global market leader. A Pre-Sales Engineer/Project Manager is needed to manage customer engagement and improve product performance.
Job Description
The role involves planning and managing customer trials, pilots, and demonstrations to support Business Development objectives.
This includes system introduction, site layout planning, deployment support, performance optimization, and result analysis. Collaboration with Engineering and Customer Experience teams is essential to meet customer requirements and optimize systems.
Responsibilities
Understand customer application requirements
Plan and manage trials, pilots, and demonstrations
Provide on-site and remote customer support
Interface between Engineering and customers for software integration
Configure and optimize PervasID and third-party equipment
Analyze trial data and present results
Technical Skills
Competency in Software/Electronics or a scientific discipline
Perhaps early career in as an engineer
3+ years in a commercial product environment
Project management in a technical field-based environment
Data analysis expertise
Other Useful Skills
Knowledge of RF systems (e.g., transmitters, receivers, antennas)
Proficiency in scripting languages like Python
Experience with IP networks and setting up systems
Willingness to learn customer system architecture
Attributes

Independent and team-oriented work capability
Strong interpersonal communication in customer-facing roles
Willingness to travel and work hands-on with various business areas
This full-time position is based in Cambridge and requires frequent travel to customer sites.
