Clinical Digital Transformation Lead
Job summary
The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre are looking to recruit a permanent Clinical Digital Transformation Lead with the opportunity for hybrid working; at home and with days both at our Wirral and Liverpool City Centre sites.
This post is suitable for an experienced clinical professional who is passionate about end user satisfaction of clinical systems . The post holder will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of safer healthcare, improving patient outcomes and improving staff experience through the use of Digital Technology and Data.
The Clinical Digital Transformation Lead at The Clatterbridge Cancer will be a senior leader within the Digital team, working with and empowering clinical partners to transform cancer services through the use of digital technology.
Main duties of the job
The role of the Clinical Digital Transformation Lead is towork directly under the leadership of the Chief Nursing Information Officer and collaboratively with other key clinical leadership posts including Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO) Chief Pharmacy Information Officer (CPIO). The post holder will be expected to use their clinical experience to support the partnership between the wider Digital Team and clinical colleaguesto ensure successful implementation of technology that benefits patient care and achieves expected outcomes.
Under the delegation of the Lead Clinical Safety Officer the post holder will also be expected to be responsible for trust wide compliance of the Clinical Risk Management Plan.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Educated to Degree level (Masters or equivalent) in a computer science related subject or significant specialist experience in all aspects of EPR clinical systems management.
- Recognised in or equivalent specialist experience.
- Formal project management qualification, or equivalent experience in programme delivery
- Relevant business analysis or technical / Informatics qualification.
- Recognised EPR/Records Management Qualification
- Recognised qualification in management studies
Knowledge
- Specialist knowledge of clinical systems management/development and implementation.
- Knowledge of system resilience e.g. replication models, mirroring and load balancing.
- Knowledge of current trends in Healthcare Informatics and Technology.
- Knowledge of interpreting national guidance to be implemented at a local level.
- Knowledge/understanding of confidentiality issues and Data protection
- Understanding of the NHS and Informatics Programmes within the NHS
- Significant EPR software delivery experience into an NHS Trust
- Knowledge of CCC IT requirements
Experience
- Experience in resolving complex Clinical System problems.
- Experience of applying formal change control to systems
- Experience of defining system policies and procedures.
- Experience of building and configuring all aspects of clinical systems to clinical requirements
- Experience of working with suppliers to ensure optimal design and performance of systems, including regular service reviews and management of upgrades.
- Experience of working with clinical leadership teams to deliver enhancements and new functionality of clinical systems to agreed timetables as part of project methodology.
- Experience of IT service management, systems management, event management, incident management, release management, change management, business cases, data reporting, customer communications and service level agreements.
- Demonstrable experience of Supplier Management in accordance with contractual obligations.
- Demonstrable experience of building highly effective collaborative relationships with a wide range of senior professionals within and around the NHS during the design, management and implementation of EPR Clinical Systems.
- Takes the lead in stakeholder relationships and influencing key stakeholders to ensure EPR Clinical Systems are delivered in the most cost effective and efficient way.
- Extensive experience managing in a cross-functional team environment
- Proven ability and experience of demonstrating strong credible, professional leadership skills including the provision of clear direction, developing strategic goals and objectives, motivating and inspiring others to overcome obstacles of delivery, and providing a culture of empowerment, accountability and recognition
