Accreditation and Information Manager

Job summary

Due to the expanding services within Endoscopy and Gastroenterology a new opportunity has arisen for an Accreditation and Information Manager.

In 2023 a new £5m Endoscopy Suite opened, with dedicated training facilities, this has increased the capacity within Endoscopy, and allowed the department to recover its waiting lists.

The role will lead and maintain accreditation requirements for Gastroenterology. The department aims to be accredited for Endoscopy (JAG) and Liver (IQUILs) services.

As well as leading on the accreditation requirements, the successful candidate will also provide a suite of reports, key performance indicators and activity information to support decision-making within Gastroenterology and support continuous improvement of the service.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role are:

  • The successful candidate will manage the annual accreditation submissions for Endoscopy (JAG) and Liver (IQUILs) services.
  • Establish and maintain a Quality Management System for Gastroenterology.
  • Maintain and develop a suite of reports including HR, finance, and activity and performance reports to enable swift decision-making within the department.
  • Manage and maintain the roster for the Endoscopy Unit, six weeks in advance.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential
  • Degree in Management/ Administration/ Statistics or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Diploma in Management/NVQ level 4 in Management (or equivalent management qualification)
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs at grade A to C, including English Language and Mathematics or equivalent experience.
  • Keyboard skills

Knowledge

Essential
  • Awareness of own limitations and seek help or support as appropriate.
Desirable
  • Understanding & knowledge of Patient Administration System (PAS), PTLs, Infoflex, Allocate, CRIS, e-Referral etc.
  • Previous quality or non-patient facing administration experience.
  • Understanding of performance targets and waiting lists.
  • Experience of service change management/business transformation

  • Ability to use computer software applications, including Excel, Word and other web-based systems.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal; with the ability to adapt style as appropriate.
