Band 6 Information Analyst-Health Informatics

Job summary

The post holder will play a key role in the Health Informatics, working alongside BI developers and data warehouse developers to create reports, visualisation and outputs within Power BI.

Experienced in Microsoft tools, Power BI and experienced in the use of Power BI and creating reports to user specification.

It's essential the post holder uses SQL and Power BI on a day-to-day basis and is skilled to a very good standard.

You will provide Directors, senior managers, and clinicians with reports, addressing a wide range of operational, clinical, strategic and policy questions to support performance monitoring.

Meeting clinical and operational colleagues to scope their reporting requirements and developing reports in power bi or SSRS to meet their needs.

Developing reports to meet Ad-hoc requirements from across the trust and contributing to team & department meetings and discussions.

Main duties of the job

*The post holder is expected to be highly experienced in SQL, reporting tools and technical minded with evidence of continued learning and development and ability to adapt to new reporting tools.

*They will provide Directors, senior managers and clinicians with reports addressing a wide range of operational, clinical, strategic and policy questions to support performance monitoring.

*To provide routine and ad-hoc high-quality information that enables the Trust to actively monitor clinical performance progress against targets and inform it's decision making process in this area.

*To establish a good working relationship with colleagues within the Directorate of Strategy and Quality Development.

*To undertake a lead role and responsibility for providing the complex data and meeting the reporting requirements on the service portal.

*To undertake planning and prioritisation of own workload to ensure that deadlines agreed with the Health Informatics manager are met.

*To undertake to ensure that any reporting, whether of a complex or simple nature, runs efficiently and is automated where possible. Including Power BI reporting across the whole of the trust.

Qualifications

Essential
  • * Minimum grade C/4 GCSE English and Maths.
  • * Degree level or equivalent knowledge and skills in a numerate discipline.
  • * Post graduate level qualification or comparable equivalent experience in a numerate/ analytical discipline
  • * Evidence of further professional development.

Experience

Essential
  • * Experience with database software and applications
  • * Familiar with database concepts
  • * Experience in providing user support.
  • * Experience of and confidence in interacting with senior members of an organisation.
  • * Experience of Microsoft BI tools including SQL Server Analysis Services, Integration Services, & Reporting Services.
  • * Experience of complex analysis, including able to interpret and provide recommendations for improvements and deliver work to implement recommendations
