UHBW Cyber Security Manager

Job summary

UHBW is undertaking an ambitious programme of work in line with the recently published Digital Strategy to deliver a range of state-of-the-art clinical IT solutions across the Trust to fully digitize our patient records and provide clinical staff with fast, simple and controlled access to patient data. Our Programme also has a strong emphasis on the sharing of health and care information across the community.

Reporting initially to the Technology Services Manager and will be part of their senior leadership team. You will be responsible for Cyber Security Risk Management for the organisation. This will be key in supporting the safe delivery of the five year digital strategy.

Main duties of the job

Job Purpose

Develop and deliver the Trust's cyber security strategy.

Lead and advise on the timely design, delivery, operation and on-going management of the Trust's Cyber-security counter-measures.

Act as the focal point for local, regional and national collaboration with relevant bodies operating in the Cyber Security sector to ensure that the Trust's counter-measures are fit for purpose and meet relevant Standards

Lead in the development and execution of periodic testing of business continuity management and containment plans associated with Cyber Security incidents, including coordination of penetration testing where appropriate.

Provide a point of expertise and reference for the promotion of best practice and awareness of Cyber Security principles across the Trust.

Person Specification

Qualifications and Training

Essential
  • Relevant Post-Graduate qualification or equivalent relevant experience
  • Further specialist qualification, e.g. (ISC)2 CISSP or ISACA CISM.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential
  • Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of the range of topics encompassed by the digital risk management role.
  • Detailed understanding of ISO 27001 operations and management
  • Detailed awareness and understanding of current and likely future NHS stance on digital risk
  • Knowledge of contemporary digital risk management solutions and ability to select the best options for a complex environment

Skills and Abilities

Essential
  • Able to work collaboratively with other individuals, groups and initiatives within the Trust and with outside organisations, including suppliers
  • Ability to perform under pressure of time-scale and/or potential adverse impacts, delegating and/or escalating as appropriate
  • Ability to rapidly assess situations and make appropriate decisions regarding courses of action or containment
  • Ability to work flexibly according to the demands of the role at any point in time, including availability to be consulted out of normal hours if required
