Platform Engineer

Platform Engineer – 6 - month contract

My customer requires an experienced Platform Engineer to join an existing team for an initial 6-month engagement.

This Platform Engineer will be responsible for managing and leading the operation of Cloud Infrastructure (Azure). You are required to have strong understanding of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and act as a SME for cloud infrastructure specifically in Azure.

The Platform Engineer also have a focus on Azure data platform services with expertise in Azure Data Factory (ADF), Data Analytics, and Azure Databricks.

Primary day to day responsibilities for the Platform Engineer will include:

• Experienced Platform Engineer
• Strong experience and understanding of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
• Strong experience and understanding of Platform as a Service (PaaS)
• Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Data Analytics, Azure Data Factory
• Strong Microsoft Azure experience – Azure Landing Zones, Azure Cloud services, data platform services.
• Landing Zone Architecture
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) – Terraform, Cloud Formation
• Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes
• Scripting capabilities: PowerShell, Python
• Cloud Security: IAM, NIST
• Any experience with Cloud Networking with be advantageous: Vnet, Subnets, VPNs
• DevOps capabilities: integrating operations and development workflows for more streamline deployments.

The Platform Engineer would be required to travel to site as and when required.
