2nd Line Engineer

Job Title: 2nd Line Engineer
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £26,000 - £29,000 (DOE)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Verus Recruitment has a great opportunity for a 2nd Line Engineer at a local MSP. Our client prioritizes their culture and reputation, earning multiple awards for their excellence. In this role, you'll provide technical support to clients both remotely and on-site.

Technical knowledge:

• Knowledge of Windows 11, Windows Server, user accounts, file management, and troubleshooting
• Basic understanding of macOS interface, system preferences, and software installations
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Exchange, and Exchange Online
• Basic understanding of IP addressing, subnetting, and DNS
• Router configuration skills, including NAT and port forwarding
• Understanding of DHCP and dynamic IP assignment
• VPN setup and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with computer components and hardware setup
• Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions
• Experience with peripheral devices like printers and scanners
• Basic knowledge of smartphones and tablets
• Usage of remote desktop software
• Software installation on various operating systems
• Awareness of OS and software updates
• Basic knowledge of antivirus software for system protection
• Familiarity with remote assistance tools
