Microsoft O365 Engineer
Role Overview:
As a Microsoft O365 Engineer, you will be part of a team that is leading the design, planning, and execution of Office 365 migrations for clients. You will ensure a seamless transition to the full Microsoft 365 suite while supporting our client's IT teams and end-users throughout the process. Your role will involve implementing, optimising, and troubleshooting the Microsoft 365 environment to meet both current and future client needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Migration Planning & Execution: Lead end-to-end migration from legacy systems to Microsoft 365, including data, mailboxes, and applications, ensuring minimal business disruption.
- Technical Support: Provide expert troubleshooting and support for Microsoft 365-related issues, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Teams.
- Configuration & Optimization: Configure and optimize Microsoft 365 services to align with client requirements and best practices for security, compliance, and performance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, create migration timelines, and deliver training to end-users as needed.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain best practices around data security, governance, and regulatory compliance within the Microsoft 365 suite.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed documentation on migration processes, configurations, and post-migration support procedures.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Microsoft 365 Expertise: Extensive experience with the full Microsoft 365 stack, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Power Platform.
- Migration Experience: Proven experience managing large-scale Office 365 migrations, with knowledge of migration tools such as BitTitan, Quest, or native Microsoft tools.
- Active Directory & Azure AD: Strong understanding of Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and hybrid identity solutions.
- Security & Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Security, Compliance, and governance policies, including DLP, retention policies, and eDiscovery.
- Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in PowerShell scripting to automate tasks and streamline processes within the Microsoft 365 environment.
- Client-Focused Mindset: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and client interaction.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, or similar.
- Consultancy Experience: Previous experience in a client-facing consultancy role is highly desirable.
