GitLab Implementation Engineer
Location: London hybrid
Salary: DOE - contract or permanent

Join my client's dynamic team, one of the fastest-growing start ups in the UK. With a remarkable 50+ headcount growth in the last 6 months. As a GitLab Implementation Engineer you will work with their customers to implement and optimise their Gitlab implementations.

Your Responsibilities:

• Employ our Gitlab runbook to support new and existing Gitlab customers in their deployment of the Gitlab service and in the adoption by customer infrastructure and application teams of this capability in support of infrastructure and workload delivery to production
• Contribute to our Gitlab customer implementation run book and our Gitlab best practices
• Engagement with Gitlab Inc in terms of product roadmap and customer experience
• Engagement with existing and prospective customers in terms of their needs in and around Gitlab capabilities and in prioritization of these needs
• Participation in community efforts to extend core Gitlab product capabiliy

Your Technical expertise:

• Ability to plan, design, configure, implement, upgrade and optimise the deployment of the Gitlab DevSecOps platform for Enterprise and Small / Medium Gitlab customers
• Ability to deploy the Gitlab DevSecOps platform on premise and via SaaS options in a manner that meets sound architectural standards, customer experience expectations and operational resilience needs.
• Ability to work with Enterprise functions so as to achieve optimal integration of Gitlab into the Enterprise ecosystem.
• Ability to plan, design, configure and implement patterns that will accelerate the migration of dev team application and infrastructure code bases and pipelines to the Gitlab Platform.
• Ability to configure the Gitlab platform to support customer demand for deployment of business services to various cloud hosted technologies including Kubernetes.
• An understanding of how to develop web hosted applications
• An understanding of how to design, develop and deploy a containerised microservice based application hosted on Kubernetes
• Ability to implement solutions that meet customer control requirements including IAM, cybersecurity and change management needs
• Ability to design, develop and implement GitOps based CICD strategies
• Ability to author technical documentation that customers and colleagues can consume effectively

What you need:

• Prior experience in the implementation and management / operation of a DevSecOps platform at Enterprise scale, ideally related to the Gitlab Platform.
• Ability to develop trusted working relationships with customers and colleagues in IT, compliance and business functions
• Ability to capture Gitlab oriented customer current state and future needs and the analysis thereof, and be able to translate these to viable implementation strategies
