Job responsibilities

The laboratory at RLH is equipped with Cobas 8000 (Roche diagnostics) instruments which are connected to an integrated automated workflow solution, c8100 and p701 (Roche diagnostics).

The specialist clinical chemistry work areas are equipped with D-100 (Biorad Laboratories), Ultimate 3000 (Thermo Scientific), Acquity UPLC (Waters), AAnalyst 800 (Perkin Elmer), Indiko Plus (Thermo Scientific), Capillarys (Sebia), Hydrasys (Sebia) and SPA plus (Binding site).

The Point of care testing portfolio includes AQT90 (Radiometer), ABL90 Flex (Radiometer), ABL800 series (Radiometer), Clinitek Status (Siemens), i-Stat1 (Abbott), i-Stat Alinity (Abbott), Freestyle Precision Pro (Abbott), Accuchek Informa II (Roche diagnostics) and DCA Vantage (Siemens).

Experience

• Minimum One year experience of working in a busy, acute medical blood sciences laboratory environment
• Has experience at preparing laboratory reagents for general use
• Has experienced monitoring laboratory apparatus and temperature controlled storage units
• Demonstrate an ability to cope with competing priorities

Qualifications

• GCSE passes in English and Maths or equivalent
• GCSE standard attained in other science subjects or equivalent

• IBMS accredited BSc in Biomedical Science
