Application customer support functions, with small teams spread across Europe.
System Team which helps support performance of the system (i.e., rail pressure and injector calibration); Hardware support, including design of customer application and supporting returned parts investigation for EU/Global Diesel customers.
Detailed activity:
- Responsibility for the assigned aspects of the Diesel Fuel Injection System (specific tasks assigned to an individual will depend on level of experience & knowledge)
- Responsibility includes discussion with the customer (e.g., component application explanation), system analysis (e.g., system specification, pump capacity), calibration (e.g., rail pressure control, injector characterisation), pre-development (e.g., control system development, engine demonstration projects)
- In this role you will experience customer project management, simulation and testing. It will be necessary to manage the customer/supplier relationship during their engine development (including new business acquisition), input into change point analysis to determine necessary validation, collaborate with internal DENSO colleagues to make judgements on customer validation and take responsibility to create material to show why we have confidence to release parts to production

Detailed activity:
- Hardware support, including design of customer application and supporting returned parts investigation for EU/Global Diesel customers
- Responsibility for the design, testing and analysis of parts of the Diesel Fuel Injection system. Responsibility includes discussion with the customer (e.g. understand customer validation results, presentation of results), component testing of injector pump and rail, analysis/judgement, discussion with component design team and reporting to customer

Training
The qualification you will undertake being the BEng [Hons] Electro-Mechanical Degree along with the Electro-Mechanical Degree Apprenticeship Standard.
The delivery mode for the degree apprenticeship is blended and includes face to face block week delivery at the University, Webinars, Tutorials, Seminars and Laboratories.
During the apprenticeship training there will be the opportunity to gain experience working in the different areas of the department. Towards the end of the apprenticeship together with DENSO the individual will agree a preferred area of the business for potential consideration for a full-time position.
