Workshop Fitter/Engineer Apprentice

We are currently seeking to take on a Workshop Fitter/Engineer Apprentice to work on fantastic projects for our largest customers in a wide range of areas. This could include environmental and energy management, plant and infrastructure maintenance and emergency response.

Role

This is a three year apprenticeship with Integrated Water Services (IWS), a sister company of South Staffordshire Water. The company is looking to recruit an engineering apprentice, to following an Engineering Technician (Technical Support) pathway.

Day to day duties include:

  • Installing and maintaining a wide range of mechanical apparatus and associated ancillary equipment, and support with technical data documentation
  • Undertaking risk assessment and associated paperwork, where required, of the relevant activities to ensure a suitable and effective safe system of work
  • Offer Technical support in the programming of scheduled maintenance aligned to company requirements
  • Support installing and maintaining of water related plants, pipework and associated control equipment
  • Create relevant technical documentation by liaising with management and general operatives to ascertain any repair and maintenance requirements that arise or need specific prioritisation

Training

This is a Level 3 Engineering Technician apprenticeship, through a Technical Support pathway. Training will be delivered on a full time basis for the first 12 months at: In-Comm Training Services Limited, in Aldridge, Walsall WS9 8UG, followed by a further two years after this at the company.

After a period of foundation skills and technical knowledge development all apprentices will be required to achieve the following qualifications:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)

After a further period of skills and technical knowledge development all apprentices will be required to achieve the following qualifications:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) – Technical Support
  • Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge) 

There will be a full time position upon completion of your apprenticeship and opportunity to develop within your job role.
